About Brightview Senior Living

Brightview Senior Living is a Baltimore-based company that builds, owns and runs its own rental senior living communities. It opened its first community in 1999 and today operates about 50 buildings in 8 states along the East Coast. Because its communities are rentals, residents pay monthly and there is no large entrance fee.

This directory lists 51 Brightview communities. Maryland has the most with 19, followed by New Jersey with 10, Virginia and Massachusetts with 6 each, and New York with 5, plus a few in Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Nearly every location offers assisted living and a dedicated memory care area, and about two thirds also have independent living apartments. Several Maryland and Pennsylvania buildings add a higher assisted living tier called enhanced care. In Pennsylvania, assisted living is licensed as personal care. More Brightview communities are under construction in New Jersey and New York and are not listed until they open.
